Google Docs

Google Docs is a free, Web-based office suite, and data storage service offered by Google. It allows users to create and edit documents online while collaborating in real-time with other users. Google Docs combines the features of Spreadsheets with a presentation program incorporating technology designed by Tonic Systems.

Google Docs is an example of cloud computing. In Google Docs, users can collaborate and upload documents to the "cloud." This helps save time because two people do not need to be together to work on the same project. All they need to do is have a google account to access it. The people working on the project create what they call “ collections” and they can invite whoever they want to be able to look and work on the project. Whoever has access in this collection can change and edit whatever they’d like. This is all done on the “cloud”, which means its saved on Google’s server. People don’t even have to leave their office to collaborate on a group project.
